How To Get: Flawless Perfect Pins

Now if you are from England then you know we haven’t had a summer this year. It’s mainly rained and been very depressing, but us Brits love to make the most of one day of sun and we never really have much warning! So this is just a guide for if you want to take on the shirt and shorts trend on how to get perfect pins instantly.

Okay, so hopefully you know you are going somewhere nice and the weather will be good the night before so here are the steps to follow for perfect pins:

1.) De-fuzz, this can be by any method you prefer, I personally like to use hair removal cream as shaving brings me out in a rash.

2.) Exfoliate, if you are going to use a fake tan afterwards don’t use a scrub with oil in and remember to do your feet!

3.) Fake tan, whether you like a dark tan or something light such as ‘Dove Summer Glow’ apply this the night before, a tan for your legs looks great even if you are darker skinned as it evens the complexion.

So now your legs will be looking pretty gorgeous the next day and most people would stop there, but if you are going somewhere really special and want your legs to be a real feature then you need to do these two steps:

4.) Apply body make up such as ‘MAC Face and Body Foundation’ this will even out any redder parts, bruises or blemishes and give you a flawless look like Caroline Flack who has reportedly sworn by the stuff.

5.) To finish if you were really wanting your legs to make an impact then use a body highlighter of shimmer just down the centre of your legs in a strip this makes your legs look thinner and also gives them a healthy sheen.

So you may have wanted to stop after number three or perhaps you are looking for a more flawless look, either way I can assure you people will be looking at those pins!!

Clarins Skincare Haul

Clarins Skincare haul

For those of you who follow my blog, you will know that I recently went on holiday to Turkey. Whilst I was there I thought I would take advantage of the duty-free shopping in the airport. Above in the rubbish phone photo you can see what I got as part of the travel kit one of the moisturisers I bought separately and missing from the photo is the Clarins Hand And Nail Cream which I am loving.

I thought I would go through which of the products I love and why and the ones I recommend!

Bottom centre: Clarins One Step Facial Cleanser- this facial cleanser I do use anyway and I really love it. It is about 20 GBP to buy separately but it is really worth it. It takes of all of your make up off as it is oil based and it also cleanses and tones at the same time. I am quite lazy in the morning before work with my skin care and I really like this product for that reason. In one step you are cleansed and toned!

Clarins Daily Energizer Lotion SPF15- This energizer is great for normal skin, it does what it says and really energizes you in the morning whilst keeping you moisturised but not oily throughout the day. I can wear this at the moment because my skin is drier than it normally is but when I am oily I don’t think I would be able to wear that moisturiser I think I would have to go back to a gel moisturiser.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm- you get a travel size of this and I have loved this for years anyway so I do have a full sized one at home that conveniently had just run out. Apparently you should only use this product on special occasions so that your skin doesn’t get used to it. It is a radiance booster and primer in one and really makes you look amazing. It is the only primer with my oily skin where at the end of the night my make up is still perfect so I save it for really special nights out.

Clarins Eye Contour Gel- you get a small size of this gel and it is supposed to reduce dark circles ad puffiness which it definitely does and it has such a great light texture that you could wear make-up over. I am only 21 and don’t really need too much contouring so I don’t think I would buy it again, I think I would go for something a bit lighter but if you have a problem with puffy eyes my friend tried this who does and she found it worked really well!

Clarins Daily Energizer Gel- I went to Clarins and purchased the Daily Energizer Lotion because I felt the Hydra Quench Cream I got with the travel kit was quite thick and better for at night. Whilst I was there they gave me sample of the gel for cleansing which matches and so I have tried that. I really like this gel but I prefer the one-step because it is just so easy to remove make-up and it does everything in one step.

Clarins Hydra Quench Cream- Now this moisturiser is for normal to dry skin and is very moisturising and feels really luxurious on the skin. It doesn’t feel greasy and also doesn’t create too much oil on my skin. I think this moisturiser is perfect for someone with a drier skin and I have used it at night-time and have found my skin looks great when I wake up.

Clarins Moisture Rich Body Lotion- This is the only product I wouldn’t buy again. Everyone knows Clarins is expensive and I really like this body lotion but you do have to use quite a bit. Whilst it smells delicious and really does moisturise all day I have to use twice the amount of my normal moisturiser to be able to get it to spread and as a student I can’t keep on doing that!

So that was just a bit more on my skin care haul and what I thought of it. I wanted to show you exactly what I bought so sorry for the Iphone photo but at least you get the idea!

Body Skincare Routine And Fake Tan (With Updated Skincare For Summer)

A lot of people have different routines for their body and some people are lucky enough to have hydrated skin so as not to have to do anything. I thought I would share with you what I do on a daily and weekly basis to make sure my skin is prepared for summer.

I usually have a bath once a week at the weekend where I have a full exfoliation of my body. I don’t really like body scrubs as I feel they are quite harsh to my skin. I usually use a muslin cloth in the bath with a great moisturising shower cream my favourite is the Johnsons Extra Rich Bodywash because the smell is absolutely amazing. I find this is enough for me to exfoliate my skin rather than using a body scrub which gets all over the bath. Post bath I add a thin layer of moisturiser all over. Usually I use my Jergens Cocoa Butter and I apply such a thin layer it wont affect my fake tan. I then go on to apply Xen Tan Dark Lotion to my entire body and I use a mitt to apply it. This tan is great as it lasts around 7-10 days so I only have to smell like mouldy biscuits once a week! Hurrah!

Usually I have one day a week where I really pamper myself which usually for me a friday night as I tend to go out on the saturday so I always feel great the next day. After I apply my fake tan I usually oil my hair with coconut oil as you can see in my earlier post.

On a daily basis I will shower every day and use the same shower cream in the shower and when I come out I usually use a moisturiser all over my body such as the Jergens one. Though sometimes I may use the Dove Summer Glow if I am feeling pale and didn’t use my usual fake tan at the weekend.

In terms of my face cleansing routine this changes all the time as I have really oily skin and struggle to find a routine that my skin doesnt get use to and start to dislike. Currently I am into face oils and have been trying Grapeseed oil as a moisturiser. Its great if you are prone to breakouts and it also absorbs really easily in to the skin. I personally find due to me being prone to red skin using a face oil with a gentle cleanser is much more effective for me at giving me a radiant glow and not aggravating my sensitive skin.

For cleanser and toner I am currently using the Clarins One-Step Facial Cleanser which I absolutely love, it makes my skin feel so hydrated but not greasy and goes great with a light layer of the grapeseed oil.

I am thinking of purchasing the Clarisonic Mia after hearing such great reviews on Youtube but im not too sure yet. So that could be making it into my routine soon.
